INSIDER NEWS BOOK A TEE TIME O ON THE RIGHT TRACK Course improvements bring a new look and feel to Monarch Beach's oceanfront layout ver the last several months, the groundskeepers at Monarch Beach Golf Links have been working tirelessly trimming trees, leveling tee boxes and shoring up bunkers. This, in addition to the new tee markers, hole signs and flagsticks, is all in an effort to bring a revitalized look and feel to this Orange County oceanfront layout. One of the more noticeable improvements has been the redesign of cart path curbs allowing golfers easier access to the fairways. That's not all. Better drainage on the 6th, 12th and 16th holes has led to more consistent soil and stronger turf conditions. An aggressive thatch management program has improved firmness on the greens. In the fall, groundskeepers plan to overseed with perennial rye grass to enhance the playability and presentation during winter. "There's been significant improvement the last eight months," says Mat Dunmyer, course superintendent. "The feedback from guests has been very positive; everyone is noticing the improvements. We're on the right track." Ocean views add to the allure at Monarch Beach Golf Links. BOOK A TEE TIME • CLICK FOR RATES • CLICK TO DOWNLOAD OUR TEE TIME MOBILE APP
