S ummer's end is near, but Monarch Café is still dishing out all its warm-weather fa- vorites. From refreshing salads and sandwiches to fresh-off-the-grill burgers and brats, it's a tasty spot to enjoy the sunshine. "Monarch Café offers a new sea- sonal menu every few months uti- lizing the freshest ingredients," said Kenny Haap, Food and Beverage Manager at Monarch Beach Golf Links. "The menu features items that can be made quickly and can easily be eaten on the go, in your golf cart or on the patio." Favorites include the 50/50 Burger, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Beer Brats, Chicken Curry Salad, and freshly cooked Turkey Sandwich. Other favorite items in- clude the flatbread, sliders and ahi poke. And, of course, there are the specialty drinks and microbrew beers. In addition to the great food and beverages, Monarch Café features picturesque views of the ocean and golf course, a nearby walking path to the beach, a friendly and engag- ing staff, and contemporary, beach- themed music playing on the patio. Throughout summer, Monarch Café is offering daily specials, Happy Hours, and a Microbrew of the Month, in addition to serving fare for group golf events. "With our spacious first tee lo- cated next to the Monarch Café, we are also able to offer group golf and non-golf guests the option to enjoy catered al fresco dining right on the tee box," Haap said. "We offer full food and beverage options prepared out of the Monarch Café for break- fast, BBQs, specialty dinners, and appetizer and cocktail receptions." CHRISTOPHER SANCHEZ B orn and raised in Or- ange County, Club 19 Chef Christopher Sanchez realized his culinary passion at a young age watching his grandfather cook as the Garde Manger Chef at the Newport Beach Hotel. Sanchez graduated from Or- ange Coast College's culinary program and gained valuable experience at Disneyland Re- sort's Napa Rose, Leatherby's Café Rouge, and Marché Mod- erne before arriving at the St. Regis Monarch Beach, where he has spent the last ve years at Club 19. Chef Chris's menus are sea- sonally and locally driven. He thrives on taking traditional, classic dishes and applying a modern, creative approach for comfort and for relevance.
