A t Monarch Beach Golf Links, vis- itors don't have to choose be- tween a great golf experience and a relaxed atmosphere. The club has found the ideal balance between offer- ing top-notch service and taking advan- tage of its beachside setting, expertly capturing the essence of SoCal cool. Golfers will first notice the "Monarch Beach experience" if they choose to take a Waterman Forecaddie for their round. Unique to Monarch Beach, Waterman Forecaddies perform tradi- tional caddie duties, but also offer in- sight into all the other things that make a visit to Monarch Beach special. From providing the surf report to insight on what marine life to watch for when snorkeling or the best times to set out on a stand-up paddleboard, they're as knowledgeable about local surf breaks as they are skilled at reading a double breaker on the 18th green. "We have a unique property in that we're located on one of the best beaches in Orange County at Salt Creek Beach," said Jackie Kazarian, the Sales and Mar- keting Manager at Monarch Beach Golf Links. "Our Waterman Forecaddies will give you their local insight into the Dana Point lifestyle and really capture that vibe that you're looking for when you come to Monarch Beach." Taking the surf theme a step further, golfers can rent GolfBoards to experi- ence the newest and most fun surf-like way to get around the golf course. And those visiting from out of town will be happy to find that Monarch Beach offers Flex Set Premium Club Rentals that allow players to customize their bags to their exact specifications. Kazarian said it's not uncommon for golfers to build a set with Callaway, Titleist, Ping and TaylorMade clubs. With 97 sets of clubs, mixing and matching models such as the M2, Vokey, Apex, Big Bertha, Scotty Cameron, Odyssey and Anser is never a problem. The course's Express Lane program – which requires players teeing off be- fore 9 a.m. to pledge that they'll com- plete their round in four hours or less, has been an effective new measure to manage pace of play. The staff also offers its periodical Charity All-Stars seminars, teaching the basics of running successful charity golf events. "It's all about the laid-back atmos- phere, but still offering a turnkey expe- rience and five-star service," Kazarian said.
