W
ant to get closer to the
pin by learning to hit an
effective lob shot? Look-
ing for some tips on escaping
greenside bunkers without blowing
up your scorecard? Monarch Beach
Golf Links has you covered with a
series of short instructional videos
on its website that features every-
thing from getting off the tee more
consistently to reading long, break-
ing putts.
"Our goal is to continue to make
the website a more valuable re-
source for golfers," said PGA Gen-
eral Manager and Director of Player
Development Eric Lohman.
Lohman, Assistant Golf Profes-
sional Jackie Kazarian Riegle, PGA
Guest Instructor Sean Lanyi and In-
structor Emeritus Seth Glasco are
all featured in the "Monarch
Minute" videos, which aren't meant
to replace private lessons, but
rather to supplement them and
serve as a refresher to help golfers
keep their skills sharp.
The video instruction series is not
only helpful in terms of building
the relatability of Monarch Beach's
accomplished group of instructors,
it's a way of reinforcing concepts
and ideas covered in their sessions
with those teachers.
"We use the website as a tool so
we can direct our students to that
resource page and they can con-
tinue to learn on their own, bridg-
ing the gap between their lessons,"
Lohman said.

TAKE TIME TO ASSESS
YOUR GAME'S HEALTH
I
f your game could use an overall assessment,
consider undergoing a golf physical at Monarch
Beach, a unique offering that essentially puts
your golf swing through the type of diagnostic
tests that a doctor might run for your annual
physical. Once the analysis is
complete, a course of action is
recommended to improve trouble
spots in your swing, overall game,
mental approach or course-man-
agement. That could cover any-
thing from swing path and setup
to fitness and club optimization.
"Often people come in for a
lesson wanting to work on one area of their
game, and you eventually find out that there are
really 12 things that are important to them,"
PGA General Manager and Director of Player
Development Eric Lohman says with a laugh.
"My suggestion is that it might make sense to do
the full-game analysis offered in the golf physical
and you'll walk away with three or four tips to im-
prove your full swing, plus three or four ideas to
tighten up your short game and maybe a few
thoughts related to your pre-shot routine."
More than 100 players have taken advantage
of this special program. Will you be next?
