C oastal cuisine is par for the course at Monarch Café, where restaurant and catering options celebrate the proximity to the ocean in practically every dish. Toss in a dedi- cated staff and amazing views, and it's easy to see why Monarch Café has be- come a favorite of visitors and locals. "The accessibility to the golf course, the views and the fact that we are so much more than just a snack stand re- ally makes Monarch Café stand out," said Director of Food & Beverage and Catering Manager Katy Gorelick, who recently came to Monarch Beach after seven years at nearby Newport Coast Villas. "We try to give golfers and guests a great restaurant experience." That experience includes a menu filled with long-standing favorites and more recent additions, such as the Fresh Seared Ahi Tacos with a soy emulsion sauce and the California Burger. Favorites on the cocktail menu in- clude a new Coastal Ketel Lemonade with fresh strawberries and a variety of margaritas, as well as the homemade Ketel Bloody Mary. The coastal-themed menu extends to the catering services as well, with a range of freshly grilled burgers and hot dogs, fish and salads to choose from. "For catering options, we have great cocktails on tap on our beverage carts and offer tasty breakfast options as well," said Gorelick. "We are known for our Beast Breakfast Sandwich, which comes on a brioche bun with bacon, ham and sausage." To make things even more lively, the Monarch Café recently launched a Happy Hour and will be offering it throughout the week as well as for any tournament-related events. During this time, the café will offer discounted margaritas, wine and beer, as well as food specials such as Loaded Sriracha Fries with bacon, cheese and sriracha. Pretzel Sticks with a Dijon Mustard Hummus are also part of the menu. With a background in hospitality as well as a Bachelor's degree in Hospital- ity Management from the Art Institute, Gorelick is excited to be leading the team at Monarch Beach. "I decided I wanted to create great successes somewhere new, and I could- n't have chosen a better place than Monarch Beach," she said. "I hope to continue to build on what we have here and create unforgettable events and ex- periences." ................................................................. > LEARN MORE about the Monarch Café, along with all of the additional dining options.
