trends do you see
emerging?
I see a lot of our guests
purchasing items that
can be multi-purposed.
We have all become
smarter with how we
spend our money these
days. If an item can be used off
the course, then the value is
greater because we can use it in
a multitude of ways. This is es-
pecially the case with shoes.
What are some popular items
and styles you carry?
Since we introduced our new
member pricing, we have been
seeing an uptick in sales on
shoes, balls, and golf equip-
ment. The guest no longer
needs to go to the big box stores
to get the best price. We even
guarantee that we will meet or
beat their pricing. In regards to
brands, Nike, LinkSoul and
Oakley are doing well.
What is your criteria for select-
ing which items to stock?
I think that knowing your
customer is the best way to
choose items. Once you know
your customer and have had the
ability to witness their buying
patterns and their style needs, it
becomes easier to select
the proper items. We
have our core vendors
that we know we can al-
ways count on to look
good and be high quality.
We also sprinkle in some
other décor items, acces-
sories and some fashion
pieces to create a good
assortment and ensure
that there is something
for everyone.
What is the best advice you
have for the typical shopper?
Utilize the sales associates
in the store and ask ques-
tions. It is also important
for the shopper to commu-
nicate to the staff the things
they would like to see in the
shop. We have some of the best
individuals on our team and
they have expansive knowledge
of the industry and of our store.
