EVENTS & OUTINGS
M
onarch Beach Golf Links
is the ideal place to con-
sider hosting your next
golf event, whether it's a charity
tournament or a corporate outing –
as well as whether you've organ-
ized dozens of events or you're try-
ing it for the first time.
That's because the staff at
Monarch Beach has developed a
program to address all the key ele-
ments that can make any size event
a success. Sales and Marketing
Manager Jackie Riegle said there
are five key steps to planning an
event that will leave your guests
feeling "wowed" and generate the
results you're after.
First, identify the reason you
want to host an event. Whether it's
to raise money or for team-build-
ing, clearly stating your objective
will help you immensely in meet-
ing the end goals, which tourna-
ment planners should lay out as
their second step.
From there, it is important to es-
tablish a committee and delegate
responsibilities to each person
based on their interests and skills.
Next, it's time to work on all the
details, no matter how big or small.
Knowing your audience will help
with this, as well as with the final
step, which is to market your event
and make it stand out from the rest
with a unique theme or vibe.
Not surprisingly, Monarch
Beach has plenty of its own excit-
ing golf events scheduled in the
coming months.
On January 22, the club will host
its annual Ladies at the Links.
Women golfers of all skill levels are
welcome to participate, and a kick-
off breakfast, on-course contests
with prizes and a logoed divot tool
given to all players make it a great
way for Monarch Beach regulars
and newbies alike to enjoy every-
thing that makes it such a desirable
place to play.
"It's a chance for golfers to expe-
rience Monarch Beach Golf Links
in a laid-back atmosphere for a re-
duced guest fee," Riegle said.
Additionally, Monarch Beach
will continue with its monthly
Ladies' Monarch Monday play
days for Crown Club members as
well as Ladies Drive and Dine
events in cooperation with
Monarch Beach Resort.
On January 31, the semi-annual
Hospitality Cup golf tournament
and mixer will bring out represen-
tatives from the many other nearby
hotels and resorts to enjoy a day of
golf and networking. Part of the
appeal for the club is that it ex-
poses hospitality employees to the
wonders of Monarch Beach Golf
Links – which they can then pass
on to their guests.
